Hi so i'm going to start up my 1st ever Saltwater aquarium next year and very interested in the banana eel the thing is i don't trust my floor and i can only really go to 60 gallon max but the question is would i be able keep a banana eel in a 60 gallon tank as the only fish and if not why here is some links that dont make sense to me

https://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+29+1689&pcatid=1689

1st 1 jeweled moray eel grows same size as the banana eel yet requires 50 gallon tank minimum

2nd same size as jeweled moray eel but requires more than double the aquarium size

could i get some explanation on this any information appreciated.

There are loads of reasons for increased tank size, from activity to even diet. Liveaquaria has the most spot on tank size recommendations in my experience, so I would go with what they say.

With that said, eels are very good escape artists. You will need a tight fitting lid on this tank or you'll end up loosing it form carpet surfing.
