Denison Barbs and Shrimp/Parrots

So I have a 60g I have yet to set up(gotta move it into position, clean sand, and I have a cycles filter in another tank. I am looking at 8 denison barbs for sure but I would like to mix it up a bit. I have a medium size pleco i was gonna move to it but I am hoping to get something else. I was considering a Blood Parrot Cichlid(always wanted one). Would they get along? If not any suggestions? AqAdvisor said it would be no big deal. Or what about bottom feeders? I have cory cats in another tank so I would like to stay away from those. What about cherry shrimp?

I've had two BP and they can get aggressive, but due to their breeding and generic mutations, they can't really bite or liplock; they just bro chest bump other fish
