Can you use walmarts ammonia?

Not usually for cycling. It has added sufrecants (sp is wrong I know). If you shake it and it makes bubbles its no good.

Ace hardware sells the stuff that you need, about $3 a bottle. janitorial strength.

Thanks guys! I got my 20gallon tank its empy and sad. Ive been waiting to cycle my tank, because my grandpa was building me a stand and tomorrow it will be done and I can start cycling im so excited!

I wouldn't get a gallon... The small bottle will last a lifetime.
