Exactly three weeks ago, I started my fishless cycle and got the ammonia level up to 4ppm. Now (three weeks later), it is at about 2ppm and there is no nitrite. Should I test another water parameter to see if something is stalling the cycle? pH? Softness? Thanks in advance!

pH. If it drops below 6.0, it might affect the bacteria responsible for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate conversion.
