Help me stock my 29 gallon tank.

I'm setting up a 29 gallon tank. I have 10+ years experience in freshwater.
I'm torn between the following:

1 silver angelfish
group of coral red or purple pencilfish
group of bronze corys
BN pleco
Amano shrimp
Cherry shrimp (a total crapshoot with the angel)
aquascape: branchy wood, anubias, java fern
bottom: pool filter sand.

OR

group of saulosi cichlids
aquascape: rockwork
bottom: pool filter sand.

I really like community tanks but I also love the ease of setup and maintenance of a rockscape.

Alternative fish suggestions in terms of either a community or african cichlid tank are much appreciated.

I'm a sucker for cichlid setups... So I vote for the cichlids!

I vote community. AND you can set it up as a rock scape

I don't like cichlids and I love plants, so I vote community

I would usually reccomend cichlids. But in a 29 I like your community idea I think it would look amazing.
