Hey i need to mine my little jack dempsey into a different tank.if i use enough filter media from my big tank can i just fill it up and put the fish in once everything settles down. Or do i still have to wait until tomorrow. I know when starting a be tank your supposed to not ever put fish in the same day

You should be able to move him if you're using media from another tank. Just test levels (ammonia, etc) daily for a week or two to make sure things stay stable. If ammonia or nitrites rise, then do some extra water changes until they stay at 0 on their own.
