Hi

My stocking at moment in 465 litre subtropical tank

2male Black Moors
1femake Black Moor
1female Calico fantail
1female Golden fantail
1female Calico Ryukin

3female WCM
3 female Danios
1 (unsure of sex) variatus platy.

I don't plan on replacing any WCM or danios when they live out their life span.

But I love the variatus platy as they have so much personality.

In the long run with 6 fancies. Is it practical to have some more variatus plays and what the max number I could have. I would understock. But just curious.

IMO on stocking I think you could have a nice little school of platies getting around in that size tank. Maybe just increase the water changes slightly.

I currently do a 50% water change weekly.

That may give you some idea then? If your doing water changes at a certain level out of necessity or just as all the gear is out anyway. Just an idea. On my DT its overstocked and I ferts dose so I'm doing 40 to 50% each week. So I can't get any more fish.

How do the platys go at tank temp? I had a school that didn't do well over winter here.
