What Fish? 29 Gallon pH 8.3, GH 3 KH 6

HI all,

Don't even want to try adjusting the pH with this tank and the local water conditions, too tricky for me. I'm giving up on trying to adjust the pH down. I would rather use fish that would love it.

What fish would do well in this tank? Would they eat the shrimp? Please suggest something else besides platties or mollies.

Am I better off with small ciclids?

29 gallon, Ecocomplete, 40 watts lighting, hang on Penquin 200 w/ biowheel. Nice planted tank.

Water coming out of the tap has much higher CO2 and therefore lower pH of 7.6, then when the CO2 gasses off, the pH jumps.

It all depends on your preferences. A lot of fish can live/adjust to the higher pH. Because of that it is much better to leave it alone.

I have very high pH also. You can see in my signature what I have in my tank. Give us a list of fish that you like and I am sure that somebody can tell you if they will do well in your tank.
