need help

I put a old filter on my aquarium and went to change the carbon a few weeks later and found white clumps about an eighth inch or so and kinda fuzzy all over the carbon baskets. Any idea what this is. I do not want my 220 to go bad. Thanks for any help. kevint

Can you get a pic? Was there anything in the filter? Are you thinking it is mold?
If so, soak in white vinegar/water, 50/50.

working on picture I tok down my 90 gallon to move and set up a 220 and it was only a few weeks. I am afraid when I pulled it out it let alot go into the tank. Trying to figure it out as fast as possible.

Just sounds like q-tip sponges to me. This is on the baskets that are submerged in the tank, right?

does it look like this?? I found this on a piece of coral long ago and wasn't sure of what it was.
