You know those two yellow things sticking out of most snowflake eels' noses? Mine doesn't have them anymore...he's still eating fine, and the water levels are all normal. Should I be concerned? Anyone know what those yellow thingies are for?

I would take a close look at your water source. Impurities in the water can damage delicate tissues in the nose that are used for smelling food. Do you use RO water? A large water change using purified water may help. Make sure that the impurities are removed before you add the salt and let the saltwater mix and aerate for 24+ hours before use. Have you ever added copper to the aquarium?

Cheers,
