Toad stool sick?

Hey everybody,

Do I have this MASSIVE toad stool have had it for 4 years and it looks pretty weird today and just want to make sure it's nothing serious. It's mainly closed up and there is almost like a brown film in certain patches on it. I blew the film off with a turkey basted and it all came off, but my question is whether or not the coral is sick or perhaps molting/shedding?

molting/shedding = sloughing


That would be my guess also. Leathers do that from time to time.

Okay, so I have an update. I thought for sure it was perhaps just shedding but it looks like it's dying on one side. It's looking worse and there is a rather large spot on the coral that looks like it is just deteriorating. You can see the spot in the picture. What action should I take? Thanks again for the help!
