2 yr old Betta fins started turning white 2 wks ago, now all the way to body. Not acting too lethargic & eating. Lives in 2 gallon heated, filtered tank. Feed every other day. Change water once a wk. Just put 2 drops of Melafix in tank & fingers crossed, any suggestions out there???

Looks like fin rot. Continue with the melafix treatment but do a a 50% water change after the week instead of the 25% the bottle will ask for. Youll might need to do more than one round of treatment. Do you know the temperature of the tank? Lowering the temperature down to 75 can help slow the bacterial spread during the medication period.

Color changes happen in bettas. I bought a betta that was solid white and within a few months turned solid red.

It does look like there is some fin rot but the color change is unrelated.

Agreed with @okapizebra
Looks like your betta has the marble gene- which can cause color changes.
