My Ranchu looks like it has a blood spot on his white tail. what could this be?

What are your water parameters like? Could be fin rot or a broken blood vessel due to poor water conditions. I would start with a large water change with round of Melafix/Pimafix for starters.

I just put him into a new tank which I have cycled. The other fish seem fine that I put in. I took him out put him back into the tank he came from things seemed to clear up. Thanks for your help. I guess it could be the beginning of tail rot.
