Trying to run a friend's aquarium that was given to us just a week ago.

Recently I added Melafix to help my Silver Dollar's eye heal from cloudy eye that may have been caused by an injury in his new environment. I later learned to remove the charcoal filter from the Marineland Penguin Bio Wheel 350 filter that I have. I also added aquarium salt.

Unfortunately in the process, this must have increased the filter power and my Blue Gourami got stuck to the mid-level intake. I didn't even know it could be closed! His fins are red.

At this point do I just leave the Melafix and Salt to do it's job or should I do anything else to help him? Do I need to be worried about any disease in the tank or should these things prevent this?

Have you tested water parameters?

Healthy fish don’t generally get stuck to filter intakes. Usually that indicates something else has made them sick or dying. And given the tank was recently moved that’s a high risk time for a mini cycle and ammonia / nitrite spikes.
