Hi Im pretty new to the hobby
I have a growth in the Aquarium, that I cannot identify nor find reference to in other forums I am hoping that #1 someone can identify the growth, and #2 how to treat with inverts in the tank.. It doesnt appear to be Hydra.. This (pictured) growth has occurred in less than 24 HRs as all was removed yesterday morning. Its also starting to appear on my driftwood and substrate.
I will be starting a new tank next week and will be moving the Betta and five of the Amanos to a 16 gallon Fluval spec, then introduce more blue velvet and Tangerine shrimp to the 15 Gallon Flex, but fear moving forward as I dont know what this growth is and dont want to introduce it into the new tank.. HELP!!!
Thank You

1~What type of fish is afflicted? In addition, please describe what is wrong with the fish to the best of your ability (i.e. cotton like growth, bloated, etc.). No fsh have yet been affected although my blue Velvet shrimp seem to be vanishing (but that could be the betta)
2~What are your tank parameters (ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 10-15, temp 78 , pH 6.9 - 7.1)? Please give exact values.
3~ How large is the tank? How long has the tank been set up 4 months
4~What type of filtration are you using? Please give the name and number fluval flex integrated filter (lot of biomedia) and amount of gph 100-120 half of the output flow directed to undergravel.
5~How many fish are in the tank? What kinds of fish are they and what are their current sizes? cardinal tetra x10, amano shrimp x10, 12 blue velvet shrimp. 1 betta
6~When is the last time you did a water change and vacuum the gravel? How often do you do this? How much water do you remove at a time? Vacuum gravel twice weekly, water change 20-30% weekly
7~How long have you had the fish? If the fish is new, how did you acclimate it/them? all about 4 months / 3 hr drip accilimated
8~Have you added anything new to the tank--decor, new dechlorinator, new substrate, etc.? No
9~What kind of food have you been feeding your fish, have you changed their diet recently? The growth seemed to appear directly after starting to use a spirulina based fish food all plants bleach dipped

Have tried General cure, hydrogen peroxide, and panacur c to date

IMO, the unidentified growth is likely fungus. It's common in new set ups, especially ones with driftwood.
The fungus usually begins on the driftwood feeding on the remaining sugars in the wood.
The fungus can spread across the tank if excess nutrients are present in the environment.
The fungus is harmless. Remember to keep up on WC's and practice careful feeding.
