Hi All,

I'm at the tail-end of eradicating Ich in my 55g freshwater tank. Along with water changes, I will use activated carbon to remove the medication (Ich Guard) from the water. How long does it usually take for the carbon to remove the medication? What's a good rule of thumb to determine how much carbon to use?

Pickup a mesh media bag and some activated carbon from one of the big box stores. Pack the mesh bag with the carbon and place it in your filter box. 24 hrs. Should be enough time to absorb the free floating chemicals.
