I just got 10 juvenile cherry barbs about a week ago. One of them has had a clamped tail since arriving. There are no other symptoms in that fish, and none at all in any of the others. I'm wondering if it's possible that this is a genetic defect, and not illness. Has anyone seen that?

I've seen a number of fish species for sale in shops that have had genetic "faults" so if there are no other issues, it very well may have been a genetic fault. Sadly, quality control in fish these days is not what it used to be. :(
