Hello, I have had goldfish for almost 3 years, and I recently decided to get another to add to tank. Got a 3 inch long tailed ryukin goldfish. Set up in a 15 gallon quarentine tub set up with a bio wheel penguin 200 filter, an air stone, with an old hideaway and fake plant I wouldn't mind tossing if they became contaminated with anything, just wanted to keep his stress down by having something to hide. Also put suggested 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons when set up aquarium. One week after getting him, my new goldfish started showing classic ich symptoms, white spots. Now, I have lucked out and never had to deal with ich before, but started treating with super ick cure and gradually raised the temperature to 78°. Ammonia and nitrates are at 0. Ph is at 7.5 I followed the directions dose twice 48 hours apart then do a 25% water change/bottom vacuum. But he has just gotten worse and looking worse. He was eating up until yesterday, the last day of treatment. I have read a lot that treatment needs to be repeated but I am afraid it's doing more harm than good, and I have heard of people mistaking other things for ich so I am hoping for a second opinion from someone who has more knowledge than me. I did the gravel shovel and water change this am, but am weary of starting another dose. Am going to post 1 pic from when he first started showing symptoms, 1 halfway thru treatment, and 1 from today. He looks progressively worse in each one. Would really appreciate help, he's an awesome little fish I don't want to lose him. Thank u so much
