Hi. Just picked up a new cory. Have only had 1 cory in my 10 galloon tank for awhile and I figured he was lonely. I get the fellow home and he seems fine. But upon closer look I see what appears to be a small white dot right in the middle of his nose!! my other cory doesnt have that. Could it be ick?? Maybe its just a piece of his skin!! thanks Scott

Could be an injury, or beginning of a fungal infection...I would keep an eye on it for any changes, but ich looks like the fish is covered in little white specs. This is why many aquarists have a quarantine tank for new arrivals, though....treating one sick fish in a 5-10 gallon beats treating a whole community tank of fish.

Well whatever it was, he didnt make it through the night!! Al lmy watrer levels are excellent!! Oh well

That happens. Just a bad fish. Can you take him back for a exchange?
