Is it ich?

Before i get into the specefics of my 75 gal., i pulled an all black baloon molly out and after noticing some ich or parasite looking spots. I touched one of the 3 or so white spots and it came off. Is this normal for ich?

I don't know...I've always just treated it - never touched the spots before.

Mollies are very prone to ich especially when not kept in a brackish water tank with hard alkaline water. Without seeing it, I would still hazard a 95% guess for ICH.

1 high fin platy
1 pineapple platy
3 leapard danios
2 zebra danio
5 cory cats (2 diff species)

Several plant species.

Water parameters
Ammonia. 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 25 ish. ( i will do a water change today, like i do every sunday, 40% or so)
Dont know hardness but ph is neutral

I am going to try the heat method slowly heat water three degrees a day until it gets to 87, then keep it there 2 weeks. Does this method work? I cant use salt as i have plecos.

Is it ich?

That's the only method I use, only I take it up to 88.

In my experience a heater can only heat the water so fast. I've monitored mine and it was less than 2 degrees an hour. I don't bother with slowly raising the temp since it happens slow enough all on it's own.
