Red mark on Gold Severum

Anyone have any idea what this is ? My Severum has had his for a couple weeks in the same spot. It went away after a week and turned a grayish color, so I thought it was healing...but this morning it is back.

No other fish in my tank has it. Sometimes at night I find him sleeping near the heater....could this be a burn from it ?

Sounds like it could be a burn. Maybe invest in a heather cover? Keep his water extra clean to avoid infection.

What would u use for a heater cover ? Do they sell them normally or is it something you need to make on ur own ?

Or make one from PVC with holes drilled for water flow.
