Floating red algea in refugium?

Just started noticing this in my refugium about 6 weeks ago. I've been skimming it off every two weeks or so and as far as I can tell hasn't really caused any issues other than clogging the refugium drain pipe.

I'm just wanting to know what it is and/or anything bad that can come from it.

It's not moving into the tank at all.

Looks like a bad case of surface scum,

Do you have a skimmer? The water looks to be a little stagnant. Seems like more water movement and a skimmer is needed.

I had this start to show up in my Refugium as well.i added a power head and it solves the issue.
