So I have this purple stuff growing on live rock and I'm trying to figure out what it is. I've seen pics of corraline and cyano and in some pics they look the same. Can anyone help me identify this? It's on the live rock and sand. When I rub my finger over it it's slippery. If I rub with some pressure it comes off fairly easy.

It's cyano. Coraline is hard.

Thanks for the info! I tested my water and everything tested out good, so I'm pretty sure that I'm leaving the lights on too long. Going to give the 3days lights out method a try and then lower the amount of time I keep the lights on.

You can also look into increasing flow. Cyano loves growing in low flow areas

Good to know, cause I currently only have one power head to break the surface of water. Thanks for the help!
