Hi, I have some orange stuff appearing on my live rock. I think it's some kind of algae but I am not sure. It started on my live rock but is now spreading to my ocean rock and glass. What is it and is it harmful to my livestock, and how do I get rid of it.
Sorry about the bad photo quality they were taken on my phone.
Thanks in advance, Eddy

What you are seeing is Coraline and other algae starting to grow on your rock.It will turn several different colors as it grows.

Looks like brown algae or maybe even diatoms. Both normal in a new tank. Cut back on the hours of light a bit.

Ok guys thanks for the advice. Should I get a CUC or just cut back on the light?
