His spikes are pointy but not like needles. He has a whole in the middle of the top from which he deficates. Doesn't appear to do any damage to the reef. He came with the liverock and now there is another smaller one. Anyone know his name? Thanks

Lookslike a common long spine urchin (Diadema sp).
Thanks Kevin. Could it be any other kind? All the pictures I have seen of "Long spine urchins" seem to all have a lot more spines and they look really sharp and they talk about being pierced by them. I've also read that the young ones have a different coloration, mine both look the same. I've never touched it but the guy that I inherited the tank from picked it up in his hand when he moved the tank to my house. Would a different picture help? Thanks again
