20" tallstand for 50g?

I built a stand ages ago for a 50g(48" long x 20" high tank) but never got it after. I'm finally looking at getting it but I'm wondering if the stand is high enough? I can't remember why I built the stand to be 20", I think it matched the common diy stand plans that are around. Will mostly be viewed sitting as I don't plan on standing up in the middle of my room watching my tank.
