For a while now I wanted to create a live background for my tank, but couldn't find a proper mesh for it. (And thought, that the eBay one are a bit too expensive to my liking). And finally, today, I've stumbled upon an item that was exactly what I needed, and for the price that I liked

It took me about 10 minutes to combine everything together, using a few cable tie-wraps and a sucker. And here it is! And my shrimp already love it!! Can't wait till the grass poke through
I don't even mind that it's black, as it'll disappear after a while (hopefully), and I must admit it does look cool even now ;-)

Any thoughts or comments?

The tank is fully stocked right now and running for a while now, but I want to add a few more Red Cherry Shrimps since I'm left with just one now - and since she's enjoying it already, I know the rest'll love it as well :D

As for the stock list--
- 4 x Male Guppies
- 1 x Pearl Gourami
- 5 x Black Skirt Tetras
- 5 x Glass Cafish
- 3 x Balloon Mollies + 1 "Just" Mollie + 3 baby mollies 5x Cardinal Tetra
- 1 x Albino Bristlenose Long-veiled Pleco
- 1 x Snowball Pleco
- 1 x Red-Tailed Shark (showing the signs of a temper now)
- 1 x Amano shrimp
- 1 x Red Cherry Shrimp
- 1 x Apple snail
- 2 x Assassin snail

I bought a two pieces of mesh, £1.49 each  -- I forgot to measure it, but it's roughly 12'' in diameter; I put them together and that covers almost a third of my back wall, with the other 2/3 covered by decoration and plants, that supposed to grow tall but strugling for some reason :(

And the tank size is 165 litres, which gives roughly 43.5 US gallon.

not sure if i want pizza or a moss wall now. Tough choice

Hahaha!! :ROFLMAO:
To make your life easier, they come in rectangular shapes as well, just not completely flat - the edges are raised a bit; I just thought that a 'pizza' shape may look cool in the tank, and it does

what is the mesh made of? it looks like some kind of aluminum

It's a black plastic-- I wouldn't risk putting any metal inside the tank.

On another thought-- the moss is already starting poking out! Yay

Catch-up!

Hi there! It's been a while, so I thought I'll share with you all the progress of my 'pizza wall' ;)

What do you guys thinks? Because my shrimps love it-- unfortunately they sit on the tank-wall side of the mesh and I can't see them most of the time

I don't remember reading what kind of moss this is, please share? I love the idea.

I have a view-through tank and this would be great, I could block the filter and tubes from the front and still have a cool circular shape! And I will be able to see both sides if the shrimp are walking around!!!

Now I just need a ton of moss!

I believe it's an Java Moss, although I'm not a specialist in the matter :)
And I was surprised about how little Moss can grow so much!

Good possibility, I am learning about plants...I saw a youtube about how they make the decorations in Japan, tiny bits of moss and fishing line. Very interesting and sooooo easy for the price you could spend, and just a little patience! Fun, I will be looking for this pizza cooking "screen".
