I am building a new sump and my current project is plumbing the new pump to the return lines. I spent waaaaay to long in the pvc isle at menards yesterday. I think that I have everything that I need (fingers crossed). I have a couple questions.
Does it matter where I install gang valve (i think that is what it's called. It is the thing that prevent backflow of water in case of power failure) ? I was planning on putting that thing about 3 inches above the outlet of the pump. I know that installing one of these devices reduces the flow. I am just not sure if that is too close, or if putting it at different places affects the flow differently.
Can anyone provide any insight?
