simple plumbing question for DIY sump

All the threads on here seem to be about sump design but I can't find an answer to a question I have. What kinda of glue/sealant is everyone using for the PCV tubing? I don't know if the stuff is toxic or not so I figured I would ask before going ahead with anything. Thanks

Any glue for PVC that is safe for potable water use (which is most of them) is fine.

Use PVC primer and PVC glue. The primer cleans and etches the pipe which allows the glue to work better.

How long does this pvc glue have to cure for ?

I still smell the glue's odor two days later! is it safe anyway? it is dry to the touch and has been rinsed.

You're fine. I've used pvc that was glued/cured for less than 2 hrs and didn't have any problems.

Same stuff you use for your home (purple primer and orange glue).
