So glancing around at many aquaecapes on google, I notice that many of these rimless tanks have no backing (which could hide filters) no powerheads (whatever happened to needing good circulation to avoid algae?)... They're beautiful, indeed but what gives? I mean are they staging the tank for photographs and then putting the gear back on? How do they have these tanks set up like this in a functioning tank?

I have a pretty decent aquascaoe going on but I have powerheads EVERYWHERE to eliminate algae growth under the high light... I just don't understand how these simple tanks are pulling this off in a seemingly stagnant glass, rimless, cube of still water??? Please enlighten me. :)

Staging for pics is the most likely answer. Also, I've seen tanks which use glass sparybars and intakes and against a white/clear or black background are really difficult to spot unless directed.
