I'm setting up an outdoor 150 gallon stock tank "pond" that I plan to keep covered with duckweed and possibly a waterlily. The idea is it will give me a place to both keep fish and provide drinking water for several honey bee colonies on my property. Bees will drown themselves in open water so they need to something to land upon in order to drink safely (hence the duckweed.) I'd like to house some fish that will eat the duckweed to keep it in check. Aside from goldfish (which I am happy to keep) is there anything else that enjoys the never ending salad that duckweed provides? I have heard that white cloud minnows do but I haven't been able to confirm that. Any suggestions?
