I ordered two bags of Eco-Complete last week. I've been running Flourite in my planted tank, but wanted a deeper bed, so I thought I'd try the E-C. Well, I set up a filtered, planted 1 gallon tank for my desk this weekend and used some of the E-C in it. Man, that's nice stuff. MUCH nicer looking than Flourite. It actually looks natural, where the Flourite looks likes typical gravel. It cleared almost immediately (an hour), where the Flourite seemed to take a WEEK to clear.

My only complaint is that it's a bit more bouyant than Flourite, so it doesn't hold onto unrooted plants as well.

I'm seriously considering getting rid of all my Flourite in favor of E-C...

(there goes that sucking sound in my wallet again...)

I'm like Cat, my tank has sort of mix of EC and Flourite (and some other stuff I won't get into :p ) and I have to say that the EC is by far my favorite. I'm going to be trying some of ADA's AquaSoil here in a few weeks and I'll report on how that goes. Have fun :)
