I have a sword that I bought with a flower stem on it. I wasn't sure if the stem was going to proceed to develop, but when I was doing tank maintenance today, I noticed that one of the flowers had started to grow leaves. There are 3 little leaves and what looks like the start of one root-string. :)

What do I do now? Do I leave it alone still? Do I plant it? If so, where do I cut the stem and how do I plant it, etc....

I am very excited! I just don't want to get overly excited and go and do something wrong or kill it, lol.

let it continue to develop ... when the swords are ready, the stem connecting them to the mother plant will die, and the new plant is free to live on it's own

the problem I had was my algae eater and even the mollies enjoyed eating the roots and leaves, so in the future, I will be protecting my plants' roots with some rockwool or hairnet, to keep the piggies away.
