I got a 5 gallon tank that I plan to keep some plants in. I added a 5lb bag of small gravel that looks quite nice and my new dwarf hair grasses sit nice and secure in it. I plan to add some more plants in the future.

The gravel is currently about 1 inch deep. Is that enough? A lot of people say 2-3 inches is best, but in this tiny 5 gallon tank 3 inches would fill up about 1/4th of the tank and I don't think that would look very good.

So is this enough gravel, or do I need to get some more?
Thanks!
