Does anybody know how to built a hill/mountain with java moss? I've seen something like that in a store and fell in love with it. It looked like a grassy hill with a tree on top.
Has anybody done that before? What would be the substrate underneath and how to keep the hill in place?

there are many ways to do it... but it depends on which plant. first you need to make the hill using substrate, that should be self explanatory. then, if its a root plant like dwarf hair grass, then just plant it each 1-2 inches apart then let grow. if its a moss, you need to anchor it down either with rocks or plastic mesh. the rest is really up to your artistic skills on making scapes
