i just bought some hybrid aponogeten bulbs 5 days ago and only one has sprouted a tiny bit.
im not too worried about this because i've heard they take a while to sprout and then grow like wildfire.
my question is, how much is too much aponogeten for one tank?
i have a 29g and a 10g that i want to decorate with aponogeten.
my plan is to cover the back and side walls to make it look like your looking into a window of an ecosystem when you look into my tank.
(cheezey, i know, but it sounds like it would look awesome.)

all advice helps, so please advise!

I started with some of those bulbs, and they're going to be too big (tall) for your 10 gallon tank, they will be fine in the 29 but if you want to cover the back 5 aren't enough. I got a 100 % success rate with the packs from walmart.
This the way grew them:
1. find a small plastic container
2. put some gravel in it
3. fill with water up to the level of the gravel (not above)
4. place the bulbs as instructed in the package.
4. put the container near a window
in about 5 days you will see the results.
5. transfer them to your tank

I also tried the ones from petco (I think) in my aquarium but all of them developed a white fuzzy stuff and none of the sprouted.

I don't have my 10 anymore but I used to have moneywort in it and it looked way better than aponogeton, you can trim it and use the cuttings to spread the plant.

BTW platties love aponogeton
