Osmocote pot shots

I was at the store today looking around and saw these. I know you can put osmocote in capsules and use as a fert, could something like this be used instead?

That's a big amount of osmocote to use. Unless you can break it up I wouldn't use them. They will work but there is a lot of ammonia stored in them.

Way to much osmocoate better to just buy capsules and a jar of osmocoate and make your own root tabs IMO
