I liked the look of these things and my dad was kind enough to give me a few handfulls of willow moss. So I dediced to do some experimenting. Bamboo stick I had lying around just like some fishing nylon.

I'm counting on these to grow out a bit more, we'll see what happens. For now the shrimps go crazy over the moss.

Wow I really dig those heh...you remember where you got safe bamboo? Or did yah just roll with it? Heh
 
It's sold here in garden centers to use as plant supports. The cheapest ones aren't even treated. These had been lying around in my garden for months so they were washed by the rain. Even so I rinsed them well with boiling water before I started the project.
The shrimp were all over them immediately, that tells me there's not something nasty leaking from them.
 
Noted heh next time I'm out I'll look for them...seem to make a cool moss fence look heh
 
Well... ymmv of course, I took a calculated risk with the bamboo.

I'll post an update in a few week on how the moss is doing.
