Hello,

I bought some test strips, made by imagitarium. The test strip I think measured this.

pH 7.5
Total alkalinity 0
Total Harness 25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

I have been reading about alkalinity and GH.

Is Total Harness the same as GH?

Total hardness is measured in ppm.

How do I find out what the GH is if they are the same which is measured in Dgh.

Is there a way to calculate Total Harness ppm to Dgh?

Can my plants grow with a Total Hardness at 25 ppm?

Each type of tests have a variety of ways they measure. Dip test sticks and liquid test kits.

This water chemistry stuff is confusing for me personally overall. But the more often I read about it the better it sinks in :)

This is an article I liked

Total hardness is also referred to as General Hardness dGH is degrees of GH.

There is also TDS which is all the Stuff. Total Dissolves Solids.
