I have seen a few tanks with live bamboo sumberged...Will this work?

I would be cautious. Some types of bamboo are considered invasive. Growing it purposely could be considered illegal in some places. That said, bamboo is a tall plant, it may start completely submerged but will hit your ceiling before you know it. I think aquatic bamboo is a terrerium plant, partially submerged. Someone feel free to correct me on this as I'm not positive.

I Kept bamboo partially submerged(the lucky bamboo that you buy in facy vases and stuff) in a betta tank, and it made this weird oily film on the top of the water. My betta ended up dieing becuase it couldent get to the top for air. I wouldent reccomend it partially or fully submurges (besides, i think it would rot if fully submerged).

when i saw the edison-ford winter estates in ft myers, they told me the bamboo can grow 7" in a day!
