Lighting options for Juwel Rio 180

Hey all!

My first FOWLR tank has been set up for a few weeks now and all is going well

One of the next things I want to do is to upgrade my lighting, ready for when I want to start adding some soft corals...

Currently I only have the standard t8 unit that comes with the old Juwel's.

The problem is going to be that I need to keep the hood as my cats have a tendency to try and jump on top of the aquarium!

The most obvious option would obviously be to just upgrade to the juwel t5 unit. But at the cost i have seen some nice led units, just unsure if they will fit under the hood.

Can anyone recommend some good value lighting that would work? Thanks

What size of tank are we talking? Generally, stock hoods simply won't hold lighting that can keep corals...but it can vary.

Like you said not sure i can fit much underneath, may need to go for the t5 upgrades
