Nitro max aqua chargers

Do these things create nitrates? Have a bunch in my sump. Are they really necessary? 120 g. With 80lbs of live rock.

Never used it or heard of it.

If not fluidized I imagine they would work like bio balls which can cause nitrate issues. Have you tried googling them for use in sump?

Actually been using them as my bio media, nitrates a little high(20). Wondering if they're the cause.
