snowflake eel disappeared

I started a fowler only tank...went through the fishless cycle. normal parameters. Bought a snowflake eel, very small. fed it on Friday. Eel ate well. went out of town came home Sunday and he has disappeared. The lid on my tank is totally enclosed. I have 4 good size sand sifting snails and 1 turbo. There is not a chance he could get out. do they dissolve? when they pass?

He's in there, trust me. Mine disappears ALL THE TIME. now I know where he likes to hide though so I know where to look, and most if the time, I still don't see him, but if I start to look carefully, I can see his head popping out of somewhere.

We think he maybe went through the intake grate and high tailed it out pm to the floor. I have 5 cats so he could of been lunch. Just. Do not seem him. He was a small eel. Have not seen him for a couple of days now. Did not come out for food either

that's sad. These eels are really cool, too bad yours might've died.
