New (again) to planted freshwater aquariums

Hello,
I'm venturing again into fresh water aquariums. This time I'm trying a planted aquarium. I filled it up and planted it last night and then started the filter this morning. It's been about 8 hours and is still pretty milky. It's been a few years, I'll admit, but I don't think it took this long to clear up before.?? Any idea's or suggestions?

Welcome to AA!

Try posting a question in the freshwater planted tanks section of the forum. You will get a lot more answers there.
