My first tray i have bio spong and white filter pad and filter floss second tray filter pad and active carbon bag and filter floss last tray is bio ring is it to much or ok I don't want to brake the filter last question the white filter pad have like 2 sides what is the up or down side for the water to flow through thanks

So just for me, I think any canister filter has plenty of bio-media, etc but the great thing is you can experiment.

The best way I do now is to make the cleaning as easy as possible. So instead of filter floss I picked up very fine foam and just rinse out under hose (it replaces filter floss that would just of been turfed each clean so any bacteria that survive is a bonus). (the filter wool sections are expensive to buy here).
