I've been told to not use normal cleaners as any over spray would possible kill off the tank. I'm also afraid of using something that might haze the tank making it hard to see into it...what do you folks use for this? I have been using white vinegar on a soft cloth and paper towels on my glass tanks and its great..would the acid of the vinegar haze up a plastic tank?

Are you talking about just cleaning the outside surface? If so just use 2 cloths, 1 damp to wipe it down and 1 dry to dry it off. Should come out looking great.
