Coralife Lunar Aqualite question......

Hello all, I just purchased a 48 inch Lunar Aqua light for my 90 gal FW tank, Going to finally try planting . The question I have is , will it be alright to put this light on top of tank (I have a glass canopy cover) or Should I purchase a set of legs to elevate it above tank? Which would be best? TIA

I would just try to put it up there.. if you have any heat issues then look into getting some legs for it.. good luck

I second what greenmaji said. You shouldn't have too much of a heat issue w/your tank being 90 gallons.

I would advise adding the legs. I had a couple of glass tops crack on my 90 gal even with the fans going. It depends on how much wattage you're using. I have a total of 260 watts (4x65) and that can generate a lot of heat. Since I've added the legs I haven't had any problems.
