Would it be ill-advised of me to build my own light fixture for my 12g nano-reef? I dont see an immediate problem with buying two incandescent fixtures from home depot (<$5 each) and builing a reflector and straping it all together.

I would use the 20W 50/50 compact flourescent screwins like i have on my 10g fw.

Anyone done this? Is this a really bad idea?

Thanks

Well...You can definitely buy the fixtures and any component parts there, you should really just look for a hood and get a DIY kit from one of the online guys like InnovativeLights or something. I got a 2x55 diy with a fulham WH5 and bulbs(!) for like $30. You if you get the hood, you can get a 1 or 2x18w retro (i got the 2x18) . i think its innovativelights.com :?:
