question on an aquaclear 110?
This isn't even my tank.. but...
My mother had fish, they died off, so she shut off the filter. It was about... 2 weeks? The last fish she had had for over a year, so the tank must have been OK. She wanted me to clean it and restart it. It's a 55 gallon tank, an aquaclear 110 filter (I think it used to be called a 500 when I got it for her? It isn't new). Well, it makes noise, the water stirs up... but only trickles out. I take the motor off, the propeller spins fine. I only ran it a few seconds, don't want it to run dry, right? I cleaned it anyway, still spins. water barely comes out - I mean, a couple of ounces a second? Is the motor blown? Do I just get a new motor? Is it a part? I know a little.. but i know it is ONLY a little, and this has me beat.
