Using old pre established gravel with eco complete????

Hey Guys this is my first post on the site, just getting back into the game and starting my first planted aquarium.

Have a question though, I purchased a nice used 55 gallon tank from someone on Craigs list. Cleaned up really nice, and I removed his old gravel from his pre established tank and was wondering if I boiled that old gravel could I use it in a mix or in my presentation along with my Eco Complete? Or if I am better off just purchasing new gravel and starting from scratch.

If you like the gravel and it's actual pea sized rock (some gravel is glass like) pieces, I'd say go ahead and boil it ... that's what I'd do if I inherited gravel I really liked.
